Abstract: 'This set of mystical Tarot cards, which Arthur E. Waite and Pamela Colman Smith developed together, seemed at the time a mere trifle to both of them, compared with their more ambitious projects. Yet their Tarot is one of the few published works by either of them that has remained almost continuously in print for nearly fifty years.'
