Lecture read to the Analytical Psychology Club of Los Angeles, 10/21/49.
'[Rabbi Nahman Brazlav] is best known to us, however, for the fairy tales he used to tell to his pupils in order to illustrate his ideas. The telling of such a story took sometimes two or three weeks, and it would be brought about by some remark one of his pupils would make. The Story of the Seven Beggars, for instance...was the result of a remark which one of his disciples made, saying that Man should live his life with God in joy.' --p.3
