Abstract: '...a series of twenty-two strikingly beautiful engravings, flawlessly reproduced here in full scale from the original proffs in the Harvard College Library. While the beauty of the engravings is immediately apparent, their full meaning is not so easily grasped. They are more than Blake's unique interpretation of the story of Job, for they contain the essence of his philosophy and his vision of the universe as an organic whole in which all parts, however dissimilar, relate to each other and none is without function and meaning.....'
