Talks were delivered in the Third Programme under the title of 'The Values of Primitive Society' but, as some of the contributors thought that that title did not accurately describe what they contained, they are being published under a different title. The Talks were intended to show laymen what kind of contribution can be, and is being, made by anthropological studies of primitive societies to various branches of knowledge....'
