'There has been a great deal of recent media attention to the topic of child abuse. The increased awareness of the problem has encouraged adult survivors to break their silence and seek help. Mental health professionals are being asked to treat these clients and may lack necessary understanding of the underlying therapeutic issues or techniques. This book offers guidelines for creating an effective therapeutic plan based on known problems encountered by adults who were abused as children.
